Projects Officer (x 2)

We are looking for two motivated Projects Officers to join our busy Peterborough based team. The successful candidate will be an organised individual with a relevant skill set, positive can-do approach, and a good work ethic.

Working closely with the team and reporting to a relevant programme manager, your role will be to support and deliver projects and research for a wide range of customers in the areas of resources and recycling. This can include technical research, data and evidence gathering and analysis, and report writing together with general project support activities. A practical and hands on approach is also needed for various non-desk-based activities which may include sorting and weighing materials, van driving, schools education and consumer engagement.

Supported by in house subject experts, one role will also focus on monitoring relevant legislative developments, reviewing and summarising key government policies and proposals, consulting with stakeholders and making recommendations for improvements, and responding to consultations. The second role will focus more on technical projects including laboratory and data analysis work. Training will be provided.

Essential

· Good organisational skills

· A good command of English and able to write technical and summary documents

· Good communication skills, both verbal and written

· A team player who can also work off their own initiative

· An attention to detail and ability to read and summarise long policy documents

· Able to prioritise and manage own workload including working to tight deadlines with minimal supervision

· Willingness to learn and undertake training where appropriate. Willing to work outside of normal office hours and throughout the UK, on occasion

· Full driving licence

· Proficient in MS Office (word, excel, powerpoint, teams)

· Genuine interest in resource efficiency and circular economy.

· Experience in a similar role would be preferred.

 

Job Type: Full Time

Contract length: Permanent

Salary: Up to £26k depending on relevant experience and knowledge

Schedule: Monday to Friday (occasional evening /overnight stays/ weekends). Core work hours are 35 per week, generally 8.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday, and 8.30am to 2pm on Fridays.

Work Location: Peterborough, PE2 7UH with hybrid working option
