Ocado Retail Shares Sustainability Progress in Their New Report
The report highlights the launch of Ocado Retail’s award-winning online reusable packaging scheme; the first of its kind among UK supermarkets and designed to make reuse simple and cost-free for customers. The initiative achieved an 83% vessel return rate and eliminated 96,000 single-use packaging components.
A key milestone was the establishment of the Farm to Fork partnership with the Soil Association, supporting British farmers in transitioning to agroecological practices. The programme, which includes demonstration farms, ambassador training and peer-to-peer learning, aims to strengthen sustainable food systems across the UK.
Ocado Retail also announced a five-year milestone with The Felix Project, its long-standing community partner tackling food insecurity. Through the Farm to Freezer initiative, the partnership helped rescue 350 tonnes of surplus food, equivalent to over 1.3 million meals and delivered more than four million meals since inception.
Further highlights include:
- Validation of Ocado Retail’s net zero targets by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
- 100% of Ocado Own Range whole produce certified to the LEAF Marque environmental assurance scheme.
- A new partnership with Holland & Barrett to expand health and wellbeing product ranges.
