Single-Use Plastics Ban Introduced in the Isle of Man

On 19 October, a single-use plastic ban was introduced in the Isle of Man.

Shops, takeaways, food vendors and other hospitality businesses are no longer able to sell or distribute plastic straws, carrier bags, cutlery (including chopsticks), plates, stirrers, plastic-stemmed cotton buds or polystyrene cups and containers.

The policy comes following similar bans introduced in England at the start of October, Scotland in 2022, and one in Wales due to be introduced at the end of this month.

More information on this policy can be found on the Isle of Man Government website by clicking here.
