Britvic and RECOUP team up to tackle festival recycling

Leading soft drinks company, Britvic, which makes brands such as Robinsons, J2O, Tango and Pepsi Max, teamed up with RECOUP to encourage festival goers to recycle their empty plastic drinks bottles at the 2016 Fusion Festival, this year held in Liverpool.

RECOUP installed a network of plastics recycling units across the festival site as well as arranging for the sorting and reprocessing of the material at the end of the event.  Festival goers were encouraged to recycle by being offered a gift bag made from 3 recycled PET bottles containing environmentally friendly essential festival items. They were also and given the opportunity to win a festival Golden Circle ticket by answering a plastics recycling question. 

RECOUP were able to arrange for close to 10,000 plastic bottles to be recycled saving the equivalent of nearly half a tonne of carbon.  Or enough energy to power up 982 smart phones for one year; enough battery power for over 2 million hours of live music streaming.
