Final Quarter 2 Plastic Data

Final Q2 plastic data

The final quarter 2 packaging recycling results were released on 22nd July 2015 on The National Packaging Waste Database (NPWD).  The data shows that 221,098 tonnes of plastics packaging were recycled and within that around 61% was exported, whilst around 39% stayed in the UK for recycling.

 

The table below shows the comparison of the Q1 and Q2 data and also the target tonnage per quarter to meet the 2015 requirements. From the table it is clear to see that there has been an increase in the total tonnes of plastic recycled and also the percentage of which has been exported, however there has been a decrease in the amount that remained in the UK.
