Final Quarter 1 Plastic

The National Packaging Waste Database (NPWD) released the final quarter 1 results on 15th May 2015. This reports 199,245 tonnes of plastic packaging recycled, of which 59% was exported for recycling whilst 41% remained in the country, which is displayed in the table below.

The target tonnage is approximately 220,000 tonnes per quarter to meet the 2015 requirements. Note that around 60,000 tonnes of PRN’s were carried forward from 2014. The Q1 2015 data is an increase on the Q1 2014 figures.
