Exeter University

The students, staff and visitors at Exeter University were challenged to take part in the Guinness World Record attempt to try to set a world record of the most keepy uppies of an empty 2-litre plastic bottle that can be achieved in one minute.  

Paul Mouland from Exeter University won a set of Dr Dre Headphones for the winning score at Exeter of 9 keepy-uppies in one go.The competition included a display of products made from recycled plastics. 

Students were also given the opportunity to pledge their commitment to plastics recycling on the go though a pledging mechanism on the Pledge 4 Plastics website. 

A recycling roadshow was provided at the Students Guild consisted of information where they could find out about the plastics recycling industry and opportunities within recycling and resource management. Leaflets including career connections, interesting facts and stats and volunteering opportunities were handed out. The roadshow also included plastic product examples, roller banners, giveaways, voting bins and a pledge mechanism.
