A key factor that needs to be taken into consideration when looking to increase UK recycling rates is people’s behaviour, this can have the greatest impact on levels of material collected for recycling in the UK and is an area of work that Recoup has had a lot of experience in over the past 20 years. There is no question that we need to more effectively engage the public with correct recycling messages and improve levels of participation. See below for a number of projects we have delivered and worked on with our members to drive behaviour change and increase the collection of plastics for recycling.
