UK HOUSEHOLD PLASTICS PACKAGING COLLECTION SURVEY 2009 The latest report from Recoup shows an encouraging increase in the bottle recycling rate with almost 40% of plastic bottles now being collected for recycling. An increased number of local authorities are also reported to be actively collecting non bottle plastics for recycling.
The data collected is based on 2008 performance and forms the 15th local authority plastics collection report. The high level of response gives a good overview of UK household plastic bottle collections and planned developments, but also incorporates data regarding mixed packaging collections, trade waste services, and for the first time recycle on the go and comparative international data. The 2009 survey was commissioned by Recoup and sponsored by Reckitt Benckiser Group plc.
We are currently working with a broad client base on a number of projects covering the key areas of activity within the plastic packaging recycling arena.
Latest projects include: - Recycling on the Go/Away from Home
- EPRO - European Working Groups
- Mixed Plastics Packaging - research & comms
- Training (Plastic Packaging/Waste Sector Overview)
