Last months LARAC Conference 2006 saw a superb line-up of expert speakers from some of the recycling world’s key organisations. We at Recoup were delighted to be included in this line-up, having been asked to talk about the future of plastics recycling in the UK. Issues covered by our presentation included: The role of plastics as part of kerbside and alternate week collections; Considering plastics recycling in the light of recycling targets & the Landfill Directive requirements; Examining the cost effectiveness of plastics recycling and techniques for affordable schemes; and Beyond plastic bottles - what about other household plastics? “Hot topics” including new technologies, bioplastics and out of home recycling were also touched upon.
